Davido to Release New Single “I Know Who I Be” on June 26

Nigerian singer Davido has announced that he will release a new single titled “I Know Who I Be”, signalling his return to solo music after a period of fewer releases.

The track, featuring Jazzwrld and GL_Ceejay, is slated for release on June 26.

Davido, born David Adeleke, is one of Africa’s most celebrated music stars.

He first rose to prominence in 2012 with the hit “Dami Duro” and later founded DMW, a record label that has produced several successful artists.

On Monday, the singer posted on his X page, telling fans that “the journey to the throne begins” as he revealed plans for the upcoming release.

He also revealed that “my next single I Know Who I Be releases June 26th,” and shared promotional photographs for the project.

The announcement has sparked excitement among fans, especially after the singer announced in May that he would take a temporary break from music.

Prior to this announcement, Davido’s last solo release was “Be There Still,” released in March 2025. He most recently appeared as a featured artist on TxC’s track “Nakupenda.”

The new single follows the Afrobeats star’s performance at the opening concert of the 2026 FIFA World Cup countdown series in Los Angeles, further expanding his international presence.

With a catalogue that includes “Omo Baba Olowo”, “A Good Time”, “A Better Time”, and “Timeless”, Davido remains a leading figure in the global Afrobeats movement, and fans are eager to hear what he delivers with “I Know Who I Be”.
