Customs officials seize cannabis worth N5 billion, rice and other goods in Ogun.

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Ogun Area 1 Command reported the seizure of 10,126 parcels of Cannabis Indica, commonly referred to as Ghana Loud, with an estimated value exceeding N5 billion.

The seizure follows, 41 days after, the command’s handover of 2,543 parcels of cannabis sativa to the NDLEA Idiroko Special Command.

According to DAILY POST, the 72 additional seizures included 26 sacks of raw cannabis sativa, 50 cartons of expired Maggi Star, 1,759 bags of 50 kg foreign parboiled rice, 2,685 kegs of 25 litres and 16 kegs (2 litres) of Oki vegetable oil, 16 kegs holding 14,550 litres of Premium Motor Spirit in jerrycans, 10 cartons of 21 kg Basmati rice, and 77 cartons of 500 mg Analgin injection lacking a NAFDAC
