Cucurella instructed to leave Chelsea for Atlético Madrid

Atletico Madrid defender Marc Pubill said he has already asked Marc Cucurella to leave Chelsea and join him at Diego Simeone’s side during the summer transfer window.

Cucurella has spent four seasons with Chelsea, having joined the club from Brighton in 2022.

“Have you already told Marc Cucurella to come to Atletico Madrid with you?” Pubill was asked by reporters at Spain’s World Cup training camp this week, as quoted by Gonzalo Palafox on X.

The 22‑year‑old replied, “Yes, of course, I have already told him!”

When asked what Cucurella said in response, Pubill answered, “Nothing,” with a smile on his face.

Pubill and Cucurella are both international teammates with the Spain national team.
