Comoros defeat Sudan in 2028 Olympic qualifiers, setting up a match against Nigeria's Super Falcons.

Comoros have secured a meeting with Africa’s reigning champions, the Super Falcons of Nigeria, after a 30‑0 aggregate triumph over Sudan in the opening round of the 2028 Olympic Games qualifiers.

The Coelacanths opened the tie with a 17‑0 win and finished the campaign with a 13‑0 victory in the return leg.

Comoros delivered a relentless attacking display, outscoring Sudan 30‑0 on aggregate.

In the next round, they will face a much tougher challenge against the Super Falcons, who are the continent’s most successful side.

The Super Falcons are widely regarded as the overwhelming favourites to advance to the subsequent stage.

Justine Madugu’s squad also defeated Senegal 3‑0 in a friendly at Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne, on Monday night.

The West African side recorded a 2‑1 win over the Terangha Lionesses in their first friendly last week.

The second‑round qualifiers are scheduled to take place from 5 to 13 October 2026.

Two African teams will qualify for the women’s football tournament at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, USA.
