Comoros Beat Sudan in 2028 Olympic Qualifiers, Set to Face Nigeria's Super Falcons

Comoros have secured a meeting with African champions Nigeria after a 30‑0 aggregate victory over Sudan in the first round of the women’s football qualifiers for the 2028 Olympic Games, Completesports.com reports.

The Coelacanths dominated both legs, winning 17‑0 in the opening match and sealing qualification with a 13‑0 triumph in the return fixture.

Super Falcons Hold Advantage Over Comoros

Despite their overwhelming performance against Sudan, Comoros now face a much steeper challenge against the Super Falcons, Africa’s most successful women’s national team.

Nigeria are clear favourites to progress to the next stage of the qualifiers.

African Champions in Top Form

Justine Madugu’s side enters the tie in excellent shape, having defeated Senegal 3‑0 in a friendly at Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne, on Monday night.

The Super Falcons also beat the Teranga Lionesses 2‑1 in their first friendly encounter last week.

They will defend their title at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco next month.

The second‑round qualifiers are scheduled for October 5‑13, 2026.

Africa will have two representatives in the women’s football tournament at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, United States.
