Former Nigeria goalkeeper Abiodun Baruwa has praised Eric Chelle’s management of the Super Eagles, stating that the Malian coach could lead the team to the 2030 FIFA World Cup, according to Afrik Foot.

Baruwa’s assessment follows Nigeria’s triumph in the 2026 Unity Cup, where the Super Eagles defeated Jamaica and Zimbabwe.

The tournament also gave Chelle an opportunity to evaluate new talent and gauge squad depth ahead of the AFCON 2027 qualifiers scheduled to begin in September.
