Brazil rebounds with dominant win, leaves Haiti at bottom of Group C

Brazil secured a decisive 3‑0 victory over Haiti, ending the Caribbean side’s hopes of reaching the World Cup knockout stage.

Manchester United striker Matheus Cunha scored twice, while Vinícius Júnior added a third, giving Brazil a comfortable win at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field.

The result places Haiti at the bottom of Group C and marks them as the first team eliminated from contention for the last‑32 spots.

Brazil’s triumph was shadowed by an apparent injury to forward Raphinha, who exited the match in the 40th minute following a brief collision with Haiti defender Martin Experience.

Coach Carlo Ancelotti did not comment on Raphinha’s condition after the game, choosing instead to praise his squad’s “complete” performance.

“It was a complete match, much better in the first half,” Ancelotti said. “It was what we expected from this game: better quality, fewer mistakes, more effectiveness in attack and more control at the back.”

Brazil now shares four points with Morocco in Group C, holding the advantage on goal difference.

Morocco earned their first tournament win on Friday, defeating Scotland 1‑0 at Foxborough, Massachusetts. Ismaila Saïbari opened the scoring with a powerful angled strike in the second minute.

Morocco will meet Haiti in their final Group C match on June 24, while Brazil will face Scotland in Miami.

“Tonight we showed we can compete with the teams in the top 10. Brazil will be a different game; they play with less structure but they have quality that can hurt you at any point,” Scotland’s John McGinn said. “We will need to be at our best. We know what we need to do to try to get through to the next round.”
