Yassine Bounou said Morocco deserved the 1‑0 victory over Scotland in their Group C match at the FIFA World Cup 2026, according to Completesports.com.
The Atlas Lions won at Boston Stadium on Saturday morning.
Morocco’s only goal was scored by Ismaël Saïbari in the second minute.
Saïbari slipped past the Scottish back line, collected a well‑weighted pass from Brahim Díaz, and smashed the ball past Angus Gunn into the roof of the net.
The strike is the fastest goal in the tournament so far and the quickest ever for Morocco at a World Cup.
Bounou Thumbs Up Slim Win
Bounou believed the North Africans were the better side, controlling the game and creating the most dangerous chances.
“I think we played a very good game against a strong opponent, with players with a lot of experience,” Bounou said, quoted by FIFA.com.
“I think we had a lot of patience and we were able to create chances, although they were in a very, very low block. In the last ten minutes they pushed a little more and, when we had to step back, we did it well.”
Morocco will face already‑eliminated Haiti in their final group match next Thursday.
