Atiku defeats Amaechi and Mohammed Hayatu‑Deen in Yobe ADC presidential primary.

Results from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential primary are now being reported.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar dominated the contest, defeating fellow candidates Rotimi Amaechi and Mohammed Hayatu‑Deen in Bolewa and Potiskum, Yobe State.

The returning officer announced that Atiku received 740 votes, while Amaechi secured 15 votes and Hayatu‑Deen only 2 votes.

Amaechi, who previously served as Minister of Transportation, cast his ballot in Ubima Ward, Ikwerre Local Government Area, Rivers State.

The ADC presidential primary was held in 8,809 wards across Nigeria.

Atiku, who voted in the Jimeta area of Adamawa State, praised the conduct of the primary.

In a post on X, the former Vice President said that the outcome of the primary would aid Nigeria’s recovery.

Similarly, Amaechi voted in Ubima, Ikwerre Local Government Area, Rivers State.

Hayatu‑Deen cast his vote in Jare, Borno State.
