Arsenal have reached personal terms with Leicester City winger Jeremie Monga after manager Andrea Berta met with the player, making the Gunners his preferred destination over Manchester City.

The club is looking to reinforce its squad following an impressive 2025‑2026 campaign that saw them win the Premier League title.

Arsenal were, however, defeated in the Champions League final by Paris Saint‑Germain last month, and their domestic cup performances were also disappointing, prompting a desire to strengthen the side for all competitions.

Although the league triumph was a major success, the club is now focused on building a team capable of repeating the achievement.

According to insider Hand of Arsenal, the club has now agreed full personal terms with Monga.

The Gunners are believed to have become Monga’s top choice ahead of Manchester City after Berta’s meeting with the young talent.

Monga, described as “special,” could be loaned out during the summer transfer window, while Berta outlined a pathway similar to that of Max Dowman to persuade him to join the Emirates Stadium.

A loan move would likely be the best option for Monga heading into the new season. It will be interesting to see whether he follows Dowman’s example and becomes part of the senior squad.

Arsenal now have the flexibility to take risks on young prospects and allow them to develop after lifting the Premier League title.

They should not need many additions to the senior squad and starting eleven, enabling them to target the best young talent worldwide.

In recent years the focus has understandably been on acquiring players who can make an immediate impact and help secure a league title.

While Monga is unlikely to contribute in that way immediately, there is no doubt he could become a star for the club over the next few years.
