During an operation in Damaturu, Yobe State, troops from Sector 2 of Operation HADIN KAI detained two individuals suspected of providing logistical support to terrorist groups in the North‑East.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama, who posted on X, said that the suspects were taken into custody around 12:05 p.m. on May 11, 2026, after intelligence from intercepted communications linked to the prior arrest of a former member of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP).

According to the sources, the arrests occurred in Damaturu town, the administrative centre of Damaturu Local Government Area in Yobe State.

Preliminary findings indicate that one suspect was reportedly tasked with gathering ammunition from the other suspect for delivery to a regional terrorist commander.

Military officials confirmed that the suspects remain in custody while investigations proceed.

Authorities are also working to locate and apprehend the alleged terrorist commander connected to the operation and to recover the intended ammunition.

“The suspects are currently in custody while efforts are ongoing to track down the alleged terrorist commander and recover the ammunition intended for delivery,” Makama said.
