APC sets inauguration date for National Campaign Council ahead of Ekiti governorship election

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced a date for the inauguration of its National Campaign Council ahead of the upcoming Ekiti State governorship election.

In a statement released by National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka on Monday, the party confirmed that the ceremony will take place on Wednesday, 10 June 2026.

The event is scheduled to be held at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja.

According to the announcement, the council will be chaired by Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, with Senate President Godswill Obot Akpabio serving as co‑chairman. Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele has been appointed as secretary.

The council will include serving and former governors, senior National Assembly officers, and other prominent party leaders.

“To ensure effective planning and campaign coordination, various subcommittees have been constituted to lead the Party’s activities in key areas, including Election Planning and Management; Finance and Resource Mobilisation; Grassroots Engagement and Mobilisation; Logistics and Campaign Management; Protocol; Media and Publicity; Security; Women’s Mobilisation; Youth Mobilisation; and Secretariat Functions,” the statement read.

“The inauguration will kick‑start mobilization across Ekiti State toward a victorious outing in the upcoming governorship election,” the statement added.
