The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that Rabiu Shuaibu of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has won the by‑election for the Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency.
Prof. Umar Sani, the Returning Officer, declared Shuaibu the victor after the election held on Saturday.
Shuaibu received 35,356 votes, defeating Lawal Garba‑Haruna of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), who garnered 268 votes, and Abubakar Yahaya‑Muhammad of the Labour Party (LP), who received 98 votes.
“The election was contested. That Rabiu Shuaibu of APC, having certified the requirements of the law, is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected,” Prof. Sani said.
The by‑election was conducted to fill the vacancy created by the death of Muhammad Danjuma‑Hassan of the NNPP.
