APC Presidential Primary: Why Tinubu’s 10.9 Million Votes Cannot Be a Mistake – Akporeha

Williams Akporeha, a Labour Party leader and former president of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, explained why President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 10.9 million votes in the recently concluded All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary cannot be a mistake.

In a statement, Akporeha said Tinubu earned those votes through his government’s focus on workers’ welfare, productivity and the nation’s future.

He highlighted Tinubu’s pro‑people initiatives—such as the Student Loan Scheme, support for small businesses and efforts to stabilise the economy—as the reasons the president secured the votes in the APC primary.

"The votes of 10.9 million Nigerians cannot be an error; they were earned through policies that prioritise the welfare, productivity and future of the people," Akporeha said. "From our members in 8,809 wards to the 774 local government areas, the message is clear: working people trust President Tinubu to finish the good work he has started," he added, noting his role as coordinator of Working People United.

According to DAILY POST, the APC primary results announced by former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim showed Tinubu polling 10.9 million votes, while his sole rival, Stanley Osifo, received 16,503.
