The 12th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards highlighted its winners through a segment called “The Don’s Table,” an initiative sponsored by Don Julio Tequila as part of the brand’s support for this year’s ceremony.

Taking place in Lagos, the segment was a key moment of the AMVCA evening, gathering award recipients to discuss storytelling, discipline and the expanding influence of African film and television.

Hosted by Uti Nwachukwu, “The Don’s Table” showcased several of the night’s top winners, including Uzor Arukwe, who secured the Best Actor award. Arukwe, better known as “Odogwu,” was met with enthusiastic applause from attendees after his win was announced.

The Best Supporting Actress award went to Linda Ejiofor‑Suleiman, celebrated for her work in both film and television, while the film *My Father’s Shadow* took home Best Film of the Year.

Producers Funmbi Ogunbawo and Wale Davis were honoured for the project, a recognition that industry observers say underscores the growing global visibility of African storytelling.

During the ceremony, winners received engraved bottles of Don Julio 1942 to commemorate their achievements.

The evening also included a toast led by Bovi Ugboma, the host of the 2026 AMVCA, as guests celebrated the continued expansion of the continent’s entertainment industry.

On the red carpet, actress Uche Montana was named Fashion Icon of the Night for a custom outfit by Tubo Bereni inspired by a phoenix motif.

The Best Supporting Actress award was presented by Ose Osundeko, Head of Media and Content at SWC Africa, together with Montana.

Through its involvement in this year’s AMVCA, Don Julio Tequila positioned itself alongside discussions of excellence, creativity and the evolving global influence of African entertainment, using the platform to honour the filmmakers, actors and storytellers shaping the industry’s future.
