Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El‑Rufai appeared at the Federal High Court in the state capital to continue his corruption trial.

He was accompanied by officials from the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), and members of the Nigeria Police Force.

The case accuses El‑Rufai of abuse of office, fraud, and financial misconduct while he was governor.

Prosecutors claim that funds were released for projects that were either not carried out or were managed irregularly.

El‑Rufai has denied every allegation and insists on his innocence.

During Monday’s session, the court is set to hear further motions and arguments from both the prosecution and the defence as the proceedings advance.
