Super Eagles striker Akor Adams netted the decisive goal for Sevilla in a dramatic 3‑2 comeback win over Villarreal at the Estadio de la Cerámica on Wednesday.
Los Nervionenses trailed by two goals after just 20 minutes, but they rallied to level the score before the break. In the 72nd minute, Adams fired a powerful shot from inside the box, securing the final tally of 3‑2.
The victory is important for both the club and the player. Sevilla’s cushion in the fight for La Liga survival has grown, and Adams has reached a milestone of 10 goals in a single season—his first time achieving double‑figure scoring in a top‑five European league.
Reaching double figures is a notable achievement, as he is only the fourth Nigerian to score 10 or more goals in a single La Liga campaign.
In this article, Afrik‑Foot lists the other three Nigerians who have reached that mark in a single La Liga season.
1. Christopher Ohen
Former Super Eagles striker Christopher Ohen may not be a household name in Nigeria, but he was prolific in Spain, scoring freely.
Ohen netted 14 goals in 31 appearances for SD Compostela in the 1994/95 season. He followed that with 11 goals in 34 games the next year, then added 17 goals in 33 appearances during the 1996/97 campaign.
His goals were crucial in keeping Compostela competitive in La Liga during his tenure.
The 55‑year‑old earned only three caps for the senior national team.
2. Ikechukwu Uche

His best La Liga season was 2013/14, when he scored 14 goals in 30 appearances for Villarreal. That was the only season he reached double figures in the Spanish top flight. In the second tier, he tallied 78 goals and eight assists across 237 matches.
3. Finidi George
The former Super Eagles coach is widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s greatest football talents.

Finidi earned 62 caps for the Super Eagles and scored eight international goals.
