BAUCHI — Air Marshal Kelvin Aneke, the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), declared that criminals who threaten civilians and destabilise communities across Nigeria will find no refuge, reaffirming the Nigerian Air Force’s (NAF) unwavering commitment to neutralising security threats nationwide.
Aneke said the Air Force will increase training, deployment and operational readiness to confront terrorists, kidnappers and other criminal groups wherever they operate.
“Those who threaten innocent citizens, terrorise communities and undermine the peace of our nation must understand that there will be no sanctuary for criminality. Our resolve is unwavering, and our commitment to protecting Nigerians remains absolute,” he stated.
The remarks were made on Saturday at the Regiment Training Centre Annex (RTCA) in Bauchi, during the final physical fitness test for trainees of Course 13/2026 Special Forces.
He noted that the evolving security landscape demands highly trained, mission‑ready personnel capable of responding decisively to emerging threats.
According to Aneke, the NAF is bolstering its operational capacity through rigorous, realistic Special Forces training designed to improve counter‑terrorism, counter‑insurgency and internal security operations.
He urged personnel to remain disciplined and resolute in their duties, emphasizing that the Force will continue to equip and deploy capable officers to confront security challenges across all theatres of operation.
The final physical fitness test, he added, is a critical part of the selection process for Special Forces trainees, assessing endurance, resilience, discipline and combat readiness.
Squadron Leader Edeama Lawrence Akpan, Commandant of RTCA Bauchi, explained that the exercise ensures only candidates who meet the required physical and mental standards progress in the programme.
He highlighted that Special Forces personnel must be prepared to operate in difficult and hostile environments where success depends on stamina, mental toughness and commitment.
The Nigerian Air Force said the exercise reflects its broader commitment to building a highly capable force ready to support ongoing military operations and national security objectives.
It added that sustained investment in training and professional standards remains central to producing personnel capable of responding effectively to Nigeria’s security challenges.
