AIK Targets Egboh to Replace Yohanna in Goalkeeping Position

Swedish club AIK is reportedly looking to sign Nigerian youngster Shedrack Eg Boh as a replacement for the departing Zadok Yohanna.

Yohanna, 18, moved to Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion from AIK last weekend in a record‑breaking transfer.

The winger will become only the second Nigerian to play for the Seagulls, following former Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun.

Sources say Eg Boh will be invited to a trial with AIK this summer, allowing the club to evaluate the teenager before any potential transfer.

A successful trial could lead to the club securing the services of the highly‑rated winger.

The 18‑year‑old is considered one of Nigeria’s most promising talents and has attracted interest from several European clubs.

Eg Boh In Line to Replace Yohanna

After Yohanna’s move, AIK recruitment manager Miika Takkula said the club remains committed to its strategy of spotting young talent, developing them, and eventually selling them to bigger clubs.

“An important part of the strategy is to sign young players with potential, develop them and then sell them on. This (the sale of Yohanna) is a perfect example of how we want to work,” he explained.

“This is a big and important moment for us, to follow the strategy and not do other things. The goal is to build the team, increase the market value of the squad and we will continue with the same type of structure. Many young players in the squad, a lot of potential to increase market value and sell, but at the same time combine it with key players who are in their ‘prime’.”
