ADC presidential primary results written in hotel room – Amaechi’s ally claims ‘evidence’

A senior member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ibrahim Wala, has accused the party’s presidential primary of being tainted by intimidation, vote buying, and other irregularities.

According to the Daily Post, Wala, who is a supporter of one of the ADC’s leading presidential candidates, Rotimi Amaechi, observed the primary in Gombe State.

On Tuesday, Amaechi rejected the poll results, claiming that the process was neither transparent nor fair, contrary to the opposition party’s earlier assurances.

Wala echoed Amaechi’s concerns in a post on his official Facebook page on Wednesday, describing the exercise as a “brazen, shameless auction that betrayed every value the ADC promised to uphold.”

The ADC official alleged that voters were intimidated and disenfranchised, and that the final outcome was decided in a hotel room.

He urged former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who is currently leading the party, to distance himself from what he called “dirty, concocted primary election results.”

Wala said he possessed “undisputed evidence of irregularities and voter disenfranchisement” that occurred under his watch in Gombe State.

“I was personally approached by an agent offering to take me to the committee leadership’s hotel room to secure whatever I needed,” he stated. “This hotel room was treated exactly like a clandestine situation room where the state party leadership retired after their field day to finish their manipulative work behind closed doors,” he added.
