The National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Bolaji Abdullahi, has demanded that Justice Peter Lifu be arrested after the judge issued a judgment that deregistered the ADC and four other political parties.
Abdullahi made the statement on Monday during a live interview on Channels Television’s *Politics Today*.
Earlier that day, Justice Peter Lifu of the Federal High Court in Abuja ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to immediately deregister the ADC, the Accord Party and several other parties from participating in the 2027 general elections.
In response, the ADC spokesperson said, “Justice Lifu should be arrested. The Appeal Court said he should not act until the case is heard on October 27.”
“The judge is acting in contempt of court, which is a criminal act. What basis did they deliver the judgment?” Abdullahi asked.
“So, for us in the African Democratic Congress, what we are convinced is that what they have done has no leg to stand on,” he added.
