The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant for Adamawa State, Abdulrahman Haske, has begun a statewide tour covering the 21 local government areas (LGAs) of the state.
A statement released to The PUNCH by Abdulgaffar Ahmed, Publicity Secretary of the Abdulrahman Bashir Haske Campaign Organisation, on Tuesday explained that the engagement aims to align leadership priorities with the aspirations of the people.
The statement noted, “The five‑day strategic tour, which commenced on Monday, May 11, 2026, has so far covered nine LGAs.”
It added, “At each stop, Haske reiterated his commitment to inclusive governance, youth empowerment, educational development, agricultural revitalisation and sustainable economic growth.”
He also emphasized that “the voices, needs and expectations of the people would remain central to his political vision.”
According to the statement, the tour started in the Southern Senatorial Zone with visits to Ganye, Toungo, Jada and Mayo‑Belwa LGAs, where he was received by traditional rulers, stakeholders, youth and women groups, and party supporters.
“On Tuesday, the tour extended to Lamurde, Guyuk, Shelleng, Numan and Demsa LGAs, where stakeholders described the engagements as impactful and inspiring,” the statement said, noting that Haske held consultative meetings with royal fathers and community leaders on unity and development.
In recognition of traditional institutions, Haske paid a courtesy visit to the Gangwari Ganye on Monday, presenting utility vehicles as a gesture of respect and partnership.
He was quoted as saying that sustaining a strong relationship between political leadership and traditional authorities was essential for peace and development.
Haske described his ties with the Ganye chiefdom as “longstanding and rooted in mutual respect, trust and shared aspirations.”
In response, the Gangwari Ganye called him “a son of the soil and a son of destiny,” praying for wisdom and urging him to remain close to grassroots communities.
Prominent political figures, including former Deputy Governor Martin Babale, former Peoples Democratic Party state chairman Abubakar Shehu, and Mansur Toungo, also endorsed his leadership qualities, describing him as a visionary with administrative competence and political maturity.
The tour is scheduled to continue today (Wednesday) in Michika, Madagali, Mubi North and Mubi South LGAs; on Thursday in Maiha, Hong, Gombi and Song LGAs; and to conclude on Friday in Girei, Fufure, Yola North and Yola South LGAs.
Haske announced his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election in Adamawa State on April 25, 2026, under the APC platform, and he subsequently obtained his Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms on April 28, 2026.
