Accord Party Announces Lagos Candidates for the 2027 Elections

The Lagos State chapter of the Accord Party has officially announced its slate of candidates for the 2027 general elections, naming contenders for the governorship, Senate, House of Representatives, and the Lagos State House of Assembly.

The party also reaffirmed its support for Gbenga Olawepo‑Hashim as its presidential candidate for the 2027 poll.

During a ceremony in Lagos, 27 candidates were presented with Certificates of Return, formally confirming them as the party’s flag‑bearers for various elective positions across the state.

Speaking to party members and supporters, Lagos State Chairman Dele Oladeji said the unveiling marked a significant milestone in the party’s preparations for the next electoral cycle and signalled the start of its campaign activities.

Oladeji, who is also contesting the Lagos West Senatorial seat, described the Accord Party as a credible alternative for voters seeking a new political direction in the state.

He added that the party remains committed to policies focused on social justice, public welfare, security, and inclusive governance, noting that many Lagos residents are eager for political transformation.

Several candidates used the occasion to outline their agendas, emphasizing priorities such as infrastructural development, job creation, transparency in governance, and increased participation of women in leadership.

Solomon Oladimeji Wahab, the Accord Party candidate for Lagos Central Senatorial District, urged eligible voters to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards and to engage actively in the electoral process, while calling for credible and transparent elections.

Joseph Taiwo Jehoshaphat, the party’s candidate for Badagry Federal Constituency, pledged to prioritise youth empowerment initiatives and to attract developmental projects to the constituency if elected.

Blessing Maduka‑Sunday, the Accord Party candidate for Lagos East Senatorial District, called for greater female representation in elective offices and for stronger policies that promote women’s empowerment and economic participation.

Party leaders said the candidate unveiling marks the beginning of an intensified mobilisation drive ahead of the 2027 elections, expressing confidence in the party’s ability to make a significant impact across Lagos State.

Supporters at the event also reaffirmed their backing of Olawepo‑Hashim, describing him as a leader capable of fostering national unity, driving economic growth, and implementing reforms that would advance the country’s development.

The party maintained that growing interest in its activities reflects increasing political engagement among its members and supporters as preparations for the 2027 general elections gather momentum nationwide.
