6th Davnotch National Tennis Championship Begins in Abuja

Davnotch has maintained its commitment to the Nigerian tennis community as the latest edition of the annual Davnotch National Tennis Championship began yesterday with preliminary matches at the Tennis Courts of Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.

The tournament, now in its sixth year, is a week‑long event that will conclude on Saturday, 27 June 2026.

Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei, the sponsor of the event, will appear in two capacities: as Chairman of Davnotch Nig Ltd and as the current president of the Nigeria Tennis Federation.

Under Ochei’s leadership as NTF president, Nigeria qualified for the second round of the Davis Cup for the first time since 1989.

An official from Davnotch Nig Ltd confirmed over the weekend that this edition is expected to be the best‑organized yet.

“This edition promises a lot of spectacular novelties, especially enhanced prize money and welfare packages for players, officials and spectators alike,” the official said.
