The Peoples Redemption Party’s (PRP) National Working Committee (NWC) has officially cleared former Cross River State governor Donald Duke as its presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Duke’s clearance followed the completion of a review of the recent primaries by the Primaries Appeal Committee. The committee’s report was subsequently approved by the NWC.

PRP National Publicity Secretary Muhammed Ishaq announced on Saturday in Abuja that the NWC also upheld the results of four other primary elections: for governorship, the Senate, the House of Representatives, and the State House of Assembly.

He added that all other candidates were cleared to contest the 2027 elections, except for the primary in the Tarauni Federal Constituency of Kano, which was nullified.

In total, the party will field 420 candidates across all elective positions in the 2027 elections.

“In line with our commitment to active participation in the electoral process, the PRP is proud to field a total of 420 candidates across all positions in the 2027 general elections,” Ishaq said.

He reiterated the PRP’s dedication to internal democracy, service, and the delivery of credible, transformative leadership for the country. (NAN)
