2027 Presidential Race: Sam Amadi Says All Candidates Run Against Peter Obi, Not Tinubu

Sam Amadi, director of the Abuja School of Social Thought and Politics, has stated that candidates are contesting against the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate Peter Obi rather than incumbent President Bola Tinubu.

He described the 2027 election as the most farcical in Nigeria’s history.

On X, he wrote: “Everyone is running against Peter Obi for the presidency, not against the incumbent president Bola Tinubu.”

He added that this is the most farcical election in Nigeria’s history and that some self‑proclaimed intellectuals and technocrats are fully immersed in illogic.

Obi, who contested the 2023 presidential election as the Labour Party (LP) candidate, will run again in 2027.

He will face incumbent President Bola Tinubu and African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate Atiku Abubakar, who are the leading contenders.
