Former vice president Atiku Abubakar emerged as the flag bearer and presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, on Wednesday night.
Returning Officer Tunde Ogbeha announced the results in Abuja on Wednesday.
Atiku defeated former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi and Mohammed Hayatu‑Deen to become the party’s presidential candidate for next year’s general elections.
Daily Post reports that the party had 3,113,599 registered members and that 2,527,977 votes were cast.
The final tally showed Atiku with 1,846,370 votes, Amaechi with 504,117, and Hayatu‑Deen with 177,120.
