‘I Can’t Wait To Get Started’ –Arokodare Reacts After Joining Ajax

Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare has expressed his excitement to join Ajax after completing a season-long loan move from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Nigerian international, in his first interview via the club’s website, stated that he cannot wait to play for the club.

“I’m currently a player of Ajax. Because it’s just an amazing feeling, like I said. I never imagined, but… it’s just an amazing feeling,” the Super Eagles star said.

“There’s been so many big names that have played here, so many big strikers that have played for this team that have really represented the team well, and we know about the amazing and huge talents that they can produce.

“So, I can’t wait to get started, get going with the team, with the players, hopefully score some goals, win games and get back to being at the top of the table.”

Arokodare joins the Dutch giants with an optional buy clause around €22 million.

Recall that the former Genk star struggled to find regular form following a £24m move from Genk, scoring three Premier League goals as Wolves were relegated.

Becomes Eight Super Eagles Player To Play For Ajax

Interestingly, Arokodare’s move to Ajax makes him the eighth Super Eagles player to play for the Dutch club.

Recall that players such as Finidi George, Nwankwo Kanu, Christopher Kanu, Sunday Oliseh, Tijani Babangida, Pius Ikedia, and Calvin Bassey have all played for Ajax.
